Head Coach Mike Munchak

Know I can honestly say thirty years beer on the NFL and are signing close to will we experienced in this game. The highs and lows both sides of the ball. Big plays there remained. Pack I was told the players I mean we we scored two point one points and I think the last 45 minutes in the for the last five minutes of the fourth quarter we thought obviously we thought we put way. By the new kickoff return. -- kickoff returner five yards. And then we come back and they makes great play Jake's fault him he makes he goes and makes a play which we need to make and he scores. The defense -- pulls the ball for a guy and he makes a play he wins and that's we troubled times making plays when did that. And unfortunately came back and we're fortunate -- about a minute and half. So that we follow fast which which you can't do -- can make plays so we just back and forth and and luckily we made the last play I think to some of those games where obviously wants to make it at the end and a you know the fourth down the trying to -- it to -- get through this first down you know great play by the defense that's -- the case when had -- and in -- happened all day I mean there's lot of stuff and to correct that we went on like this you just you were brought that to go out tomorrow and next day. You process we want a football game that we had to win we all knew how badly need to win. We made a lot of big plays this game. There which was fun to watch we know we got things to fix that we just got to enjoy this win. Right now and does he was good to watch lot of guys step up there was injuries guys kept stepping up come back. You know both sides I'm sure both teams so -- great win for us and hopefully we can -- us. What they did a good thing early for them was at we we held the three point 63 or four times and the score got so much refueling on the 45 field goals. And I was probably kept us in the game if we don't -- of touchdowns there. We're we're we're way behind our offense against -- that we got we got while down a little bit and -- for field goals we missed too which is rare for us. Which you legitimate chance to get back in the games at times to select Monica said it was back and forth and yes there's things on defense obviously we -- you better you can't cure fourteen points. With whoever was left a couple minutes with productive quarterback and I mean we can go and -- ourselves for that and work on that will get done right but they got great receivers great players. Which we knew coming in their big play type people in. They've they've made plays to great players make plays and so. I think -- we learned is that a no matter what happens in the game highs and lows is never over. I'm both sides have to find a way to finish a game and you'll find a way to make plays to win it and now that the plays even though we blew a fourteen point lead. We erased a seven point -- we -- do we do we to a fourteen but we found a way to come back the offense is a great job I mean Jay was great all day I thought. Against a very good defense affront to the protection was really good for him -- very rarely do you get hitter -- pressure against a really good group. -- play after play guys -- swarmed by his competitive he took just on the field. -- that last drive left to get the fuel to produce -- three points to go ahead so I'm just a lot of good things to watch him from the sidelines and it was an emotional day for all listen. It's great that we we've -- when the fullest like. -- I was we -- that they can very heavily vocal -- I know they got the ball we scored a touchdown -- games over most of -- to be encouraging partner and I knew that if we got it was close. I would went for. -- for that reason because at that point game they were moving the ball pretty well but last couple times are in the field. What that when I -- was a beautiful two yards -- first of those closer that's that's why I was called time out to make sure that those two critical the situation hurry. Tom -- weren't that important because we didn't TO you have to challenge -- time -- sort of immediate so once you realized. The down distance and and can you relax second realized the dusty do is give the points on the board. And you know in case something that happened. There's a great job in their expected that I I don't know if this confusion Miranda exactly what they're trying to do there. At the and that's why it is to be careful immunity and any games things emotional happen and yeah this reminds backlash -- Tampa we I think it was a similar situation Tampa. Where are trying to get a fourth down and hurry up on the on the quarterback sneak we stopped and that there also so. Like it says a great job by the defense is that not being down on themselves to say man they destroyed the field again there on -- five or seven yard line. You were in trouble here they've grows up on fourth down minute -- and a Estes leads all of us. Missed on the complacent and not dwelling on mistakes and come back the next week and fixable we got to fix because obviously. When every game like this on both sides a lot of lot of things fixed but he was just a lot of good players make and some great football players. And I think it was -- entertain watched. I think both -- circuit's other -- nervous through some at this our lives on misses -- and put in words what. On to say about that because we all we both could wants a new ways. You know we talked your team is -- so many things at them. Yeah we could to place we didn't make that we could have that who won the game the same for him so I think it's one of those were. You know it's nice it this week -- he said it was chocolate and week. Way. What they could I think but I think that there's -- things are beautiful now from him and we got so -- and pre season you -- he can't we intercept the ball in the hands on the game's over we have a penalty on -- rough the passer. But that can't happen than that that's something you just can't have in this league if you can win. And because that's just -- play -- that have to happen. And so that's that's and you go back and that's that's a huge learning -- hope we play for all those guys that you just can't you -- disappointment. That was hard to argue about the ball on that stuff like you practice you practice you wonder why we practice in this. Once I kick while he practices every week. That's why. If what you could practice all you want but when you hear the battle yet to actually do it. He's fun out there we didn't do two things that last play basketball that we've we've got -- onside -- we can get that done. Excuse them both those plays in the we have fifteen yard penalty that the game was over on that we have to go for all of us. What's now we won the game I don't mind going through all we've learned a lot. We got to experience Sosa thinks of the guys to see now when I went as a coach when I'm put into practice to realize -- while -- And chip rather like your cover all those situations and what it would -- good -- because right -- across football game. All three of those players could Kostis and number to save -- Christmas acoustic to our special teams in the Al Lari chip probably accurate thought that it did a great plan to be great job. To be a throwback player there who really gave us a lot of momentum. I changed a game early for us when things were kind of stale. But those are huge plays at the ridge and part of that we Tommie Campbell who again because his speed huge part of our plan last year we had. Something they've put in the players are really excited about it and you and you knew it was gonna work just when they practically got practiced in believes in us that we it was the perfect time to do that. The return 405 yards of those plays when -- football games. And believe that that's obviously why we are in the scheme those two plays 1414. Points. That was huge in the game like this so just a great job by them by the special teams and again we we've been struggling as as an offensive defense. All three you know both these -- the last two games first against the special teams is one area has played well. All three games and so it was good to see -- score points on them. But we decide together ankle that his knees are fine. Pete but he he can hurt his ankle came back in. He came back in the -- source we took him out finger on the over time port right in the fourth quarter. Cookie got the shoulder. But we've hit his his looks pretty good that he shall you be OK next week by the ankle check. -- What's it got -- Dawson got an ankle or a hamstring early in the game. So he was in place of the rules -- of defense it and put. Most of the guys -- him Stephens. You know we thought we survived that and I don't know. But he's human vacuum plates and he's -- it he's okay. Yeah he did but I think the protection really hasn't been to -- the first game I thought he played pretty well. Again he's he's exactly plan heartily what do we we we he threw one interception. In the opener 21 -- second game I was in the second play which he tires thrown -- to throw it far enough. You know after that was solid. This game he had a chance to play of Warren and made plays and we have a bald -- offense and I think he's exactly we thought he believes he's a competitor. That -- I want time making him he waiver what was going on highs and -- didn't affect him one bit. In games even the first two games and have clear to you wanna take back to regular committee files and moves on. And I think that's of people here here and panache or appreciate about him as he plays yes his first win as a pro. Which is a great culture for him -- game like this the yards were but he obviously -- very well made some great throws to receivers and it's a great place for him. Which you have to have and what -- we ask -- do a lot as young young men and would you would do what you know he should just get better and better every game. -- Okay. It was such is that I think when we did you know -- decision again until the end there when we scored the 21 right off me and him. But the hard hit this in the football game to start feeling good about a situation. But we felt good about our situation. You know I knew we we knew we had to make plays when you gotta go -- again all that -- them by no means do we. -- I mean I was who went to a more present the kind of kill the clock and you know target clock ran out those kind of things but. They can make it plays a mean Louis is a head coach. You're trying to keep from going to try to keep the -- there was so many highs and lows and I game. That I think you -- realize you know what to you weren't sure what was -- happen next just so that's why it just keep making plays do your job. -- total called it was supposed to do -- go from there and and I think that's we didn't have the defense again we start -- yards those last three drives but again we got the big play by a firm. We have really at the big play in the end zone finished the game off we don't have the penalty on the quarterback at the and we get the quarterback sneak deals so they -- yards in between all that. But we finally made three plays into -- decision -- that game the last one finally did. So it's you know I've been around long time but it's evident I don't think it was a receive one quietly effective today. The whole game. Yeah I mean I didn't get to him because everything was going on it was the I think -- you know I never felt like there was a problem there. -- we gonna complain about calls. Sure we are. We'll look like you're in the game but don't know I felt that they have control over Dave. -- replay with the had a replay they did they do they do to respond and I agree with some things but. Ultimately yet -- neutral view. -- it. That's great I think these guys just I think you're so tired don't think -- celebrating going on these -- Garza. Will sleep well tonight and coming tomorrow knowing that -- this plays a wanna take back but you know what you. For me. We've coaches who won an excellent if I comparison to my double apparently become a parents can -- last year. We beat. The Ravens and the Broncos and this is the first blast -- about -- three and also. I have to -- the whenever we can thank Nelson got so that's also very much.
